Don’t wait for summer to enjoy abundant color in the garden.
When the weather turns a bit warmer we are anxious to see the garden come to life. Bulbs, spring perennials, and flowering shrubs (see some great examples of each below) add beauty, elegance, and anticipation early in the season. Bulbs, perennials, and shrubs require some planning before the spring season. But don’t despair…spring annuals can bring life to your landscape now. Pansies and primrose are hardy and can handle the cooler weather and even a late frost. Plant them in the landscape once the ground warms up or make magnificent displays in window boxes or planters throughout the property. Spring annuals allow us to dream and anticipate the beauty of the season to come. Remember, May 15th is usually a great time to plant your summer annuals. This gives Mother Nature plenty of time to have a frost. Happy Gardening!
